First Impressions - Lucy
When we first met, I was impressed that Mark was a guy that felt really safe. In those beginning stages of a relationship things can be nerve-racking, "Is he gonna call?", "Does he like me?", "What is this relationship gonna look like?" Mark was so good at sharing what he was thinking and what he felt, which makes a woman feel secure.
I was also impressed that Mark was, quite obviously, a guy with ambition. Here was a small-town boy living and running his own business in down-town Toronto. What was more impressive, though, was his drive when it came to volunteering with the youth and Boys Club. The leadership Mark portrayed was something I'd prayed for in a man.
Mark treated me with respect and kindness. No, he wasn't Mr.Perfect, but the times that he messed up were times that gave me an even greater opportunity to see who this guy was. Mark was always quick to work through disagreements and not affraid of the words, "I'm sorry".
Added to this list, was Marks level of character. I was so pleased to find that Mark was a man of integrity. Getting to know him and his life story was exciting. I found in him a person that allowed God to use the tough times in his life to develope character. This is one of the rarest qualities that can be found and I knew that deep character does not come cheaply!
These were some of the "first impressions" I had of Mark. I knew from the get-go that I respected this guy! ...and two years later, I love him!
