Leaving South Porcupine behind, Mark packed up and migrated south to attend a small Bible college in Peterborough.  With Steve as a roommate, Steph (his older sister) as a forerunner and a clean slate, Mark completed the transition from worm to butterfly...so to speak (He didn't actually go through any pupal cocoon stage or grow wings).
